Nov 9, 2015 06:48PM

ST. GEORGE'S, GRENADA, NOVEMBER 9, 2015, GOVERNMENT INFORMATION SERVICE (GIS): Grenadian Police Officer Damien Daniel, stole the hearts of fans in Barbados when he stormed to victory in the Darcy Beckles Invitational Classic in Bridgetown over the weekend.

Daniel ended the Bajan hold on the title by outperforming Barbados champion Stevenson Belle and Vincentian Garwin Phillips in a crowd pleasing showdown that earned him a cheque of $4000.

Daniel, who was also winner of the Best Symmetry and Most Muscular awards, said that conditioning did the trick.

“I knew that most of the guys would come big so I concentrated more on being condition. That is my strength,” said Daniel, one of the police officers assigned to guard Grenada’s Prime Minister, Dr. Keith Mitchell.

“I know how to prepare and be sharp. My back and abs were shredded and I knew I would be hard to beat”.

The win in Barbados was Daniel’s second major regional title for the year.

In July, he stole the limelight at a prestigious body building championship in Trinidad, defeating lifters from Barbados to St. Maarten to capture the annual Sportsworld Bodybuilding and Fitness Classic.
